
FITT Formula:
Change One of the Variables to Add Variety to Your Work Out Program
- Frequency – Number of times per week.
- Intensity - How hard, difficult or challenging the activity is performed.
- Time - Time or duration of the activity
- Type – Type of activity
- Example: Shorten the time of your activity but increase the intensity. Walking for 45 minutes can be changed to jogging for 20 minutes.
Try a New Activity:
- Make a list of activities that you enjoy and that you would like to try. Maybe you have always wanted to try a martial art. Go to your local martial art club and watch a class to see if you think that you would like to try it.
Possible Activity Choices:
- Aerobics
- Yoga
- Swimming
- Racquetball
- Bicycling
- Golf
- Bowling
