FITT Formula:

Change One of the Variables to Add Variety to Your Work Out Program

  • Frequency – Number of times per week.
  • Intensity - How hard, difficult or challenging the activity is performed.
  • Time - Time or duration of the activity
  • Type – Type of activity
    • Example: Shorten the time of your activity but increase the intensity. Walking for 45 minutes can be changed to jogging for 20 minutes.

Try a New Activity:

  • Make a list of activities that you enjoy and that you would like to try. Maybe you have always wanted to try a martial art. Go to your local martial art club and watch a class to see if you think that you would like to try it.

Possible Activity Choices:

  • Aerobics
  • Yoga
  • Swimming
  • Racquetball
  • Bicycling
  • Golf
  • Bowling
