I began my career in the mid-90s promoting physical activity to adults. Over the years I have migrated toward more of a focus of physical activity for children and youth. I especially enjoy the unpredictability of kids and often get a kick out of their comments and ideas. I currently hold a dual position between Alberta Health Services and the Medicine Hat College Be Fit for Life Centre. Both positions work together on the Moving and Choosing Initiative. Along with holding this fantastic position, I am blessed toexperience the dream of owning my own business as co-owner of the Blue Butterfly Yoga & Pilates Centre. My husband Chris and I, together have 4 children (3 boys: Christian, Brady and Charlie and a sweet girl named Gabby) and 2 babies (our pom x puppies: Brutus and Nuggy). We love camping, golfing and almost anything to do with hockey.

| My interest in the components of wellness began with my experiences in sport as both an athlete and coach. This led me to a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Calgary where I majored in exercise and health physiology. I continue to reap the benefits of this education in my personal life and also as a Moving and Choosing lead. With the demands of two bossy and beautiful little girls, I have no spare time, but if I did I would spend it with them anyway (along with the odd beach vacation). I live for a challenge, am cheeky enough to ask for what I want, and can sing every word of "Ice, Ice, Baby" by Vanilla Ice. I love my job and hope that maybe one day I'll even be good at it! |

| In 2005 I was fortunate to join Moving and Choosing. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education from the University of Lethbridge and a Masters of Arts in Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University. I love the messy work of community development-especially in the rural setting of PRSD! I have a sometimes lovely family consisting of my farmer husband, a six year old daughter and a two and half year old son. I really do try to practice what I preach and I find myself up at 5 a.m. to go for a run, I avoid the cookie aisle, and I think positively. |

With my work as a School Healthy Eating Facilitator for Prairie Rose School Division, I work with Moving and Choosing very closely. Moving and Choosing provides great resources and enthusiastic staff with great ideas who are always willing to help. With their support, I am able to have more impact with the students, teachers, and parents of Prairie Rose, therefore having positive progress in creating a healthy school environment.
